How to get 6 pack abs

We always envy people with abs. It makes us want to get in shape. It makes us think to ourselves, why can’t I have abs like that? Well… you can!

I always get compliments on my abs and friends or people at the gym ask me how I get them so I decided to do a post about it.

The first step in obtaining defined abs is lowering your body fat percentage. You must lower that first before being able to see your abs poke through otherwise the below tips are pointless. Once you get in a regular work out routine and cut out fried foods, processed foods, fast food and lower your sugar/dairy intake you will be on the right track (Start looking at labels and how much sugar is inside, ideally 5% or less is low). Instead enjoy protein, veggies and carbs. When I say carbs I mean healthy carbs such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, avocados, whole fruits and whole grains (oats, brown rice and quinoa) not bad carbs such as white bread, fries and potato chips. You will definitely see results in 1-2 months depending on how much you stick to this until you notice a difference (then we can talk about cheat days). If you drink a lot, that’s another story, lets address that first! There is TONS of sugar in alcohol. Cut that out first if you really want this or limit yourself until you see results.

Now for the exercise part. In the gym, here is my go to for when I head over to the mats for my floor exercises. This was recommended to me by the trainer of many professional models: David Hicks of LifestylecoachLA :

You definitely feel the burn on this one!! Just power through it. Try it 3-5 times a week in addition to your work out routine. It will get easier. You can do it! I may be a weirdo but I now enjoy the burn.

The other main work out I do in which I definitely found great results with is sprinting! When I go over to the park to jog or run around the track to warm up, I head over to the grassy area afterwards for sprinting, lunges and ab exercises. This is when my abs really started to show! I would do this several times a week. Sprinting increases your metabolism and  the calories continue to burn off long after your sprinting is done! It burns off the stomach fat and tones the muscles underneath. Make sure you engage your core while sprinting. It is the most explosive training you can do. You will build your glutes, quads and hamstrings and will also strengthen your core. You engage all of those muscles at the same time. 90% of athletes include sprint training in their workout routine. Try sprinting about 110 yards ten times 3-4 times per week.

  1. Lower your body fat percentage by exercising regularly.
  2. Lower your body fat percentage by eating healthy protein rich foods, lowering your sugar and dairy intake and by cutting out processed foods, fried foods, fast food (and cut off alcohol or at least limit your drinks to a couple drinks per week for now).
  3. Do the above 6 Minute 6 Pack ab routine 3-5 times a week.
  4. Sprint 10×110!  110 yards 10 times 3-4 times a week.

Try these workouts and let me know what you think!

Visiting LACMA art museum in my favorite white jeans

These are my all time favorite jeans. Well ok, you caught me, they aren’t exactly jeans. They look like it, but they are actually called “The legging ankle (super skinny ankle).” In today’s world they would be called jeggings (jeans but actually leggings). That might be why they are so soft and stretchy, lightweight and feel like a second skin.

With this look, I am wearing a few of my staple pieces. Pieces I can wear interchangeably with almost anything. I love this cropped black tank and long grey sweater coat I throw on with jeans, leggings, shorts, a dress, even black yoga pants and sneakers.

The coat is warm, light, soft and also very comfortable. The store I got it from is one of my favorite places in West Hollywood, if you’re into fashion, you must go. It is called “The Library” on West 3rd Street. I believe it’s technically Los Angeles but it is the trendy Weho (West Hollywood) area with tons of delicious restaurants, cool fashion shops, juice bars, etc. I love this area and I frequent it quite often as I love all the stores and food choices. I used to live walking distance to there. This store literally has everything I would have hand picked myself from clothes, the hottest sunglasses to accessories. They sometimes have a rack outside with clothes on sale. Check it out if you are ever in the area.

Back to what I’m wearing, on my feet are camel booties, which I love that deep camel color and the richness it brings to the outfit. The clutch ties it all in and matches my shoes although I don’t usually match my shoes and my purse as I’ve mentioned before. This I was ok with since the clutch is leopard print with several different colors. Matching your shoes and purse is in most cases too cookie cutter or too “boring” for me. LOL

So that’s all folks! Invest in these jeggings if you want a nice pair of jeans that are flattering to your curves and yet so comfy. Great for spring, summer and actually year round. Show off that figure of yours and look and feel fabulous! Or use these as motivation to hit the gym, then do that! 😆😉

LOCATION: We shot these photos at LACMA  (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) in Mid-City Los Angeles (known as Miracle Mile or Mid Wilshire). Another cool place to check out if you haven’t been or if you plan to visit LA soon. I am standing in front of “Urban Light” which is a large-scale assemblage sculpture by Chris Burden (2008). It consists of restored cast iron street lamps from the 1920’s & 1930’s. Most of them from the streets of Southern California once upon a time. The lights are solar powered and switch on at dusk. So pretty in person to see day or night. You can come get a day pass to view the art galleries and exhibitions for about $15 (cheaper for seniors and free for kids) and they also have a cafe and good restaurant onsite for food and drinks.

I’m a barbie girl in a barbie world!

Not really.. but who doesn’t want to be a barbie? I had to have this skirt once I saw it.

I paired this skirt with a white collared half top that ties, white ceramic watch and both the sunglasses and faux leather wallet accessories are from Target! They actually paired really well with the outfit. On my nails, I went for a pale pink.

Last, I tied it all in with a nude pair of heels.

You can create this look with any pencil skirt, pants or jeans (any color) and keep the crisp white top and nude heels since they both go with everything. The white top is a nice fun staple for the summer and I love it because it is so versatile.

Ciao! I’m now I’m off to din-din!

Target Style / Style on a Budget – Day 1

Hi fashion lovers & friends,

Today’s post is about style on a budget. It’s short and sweet but I’ll be posting a few different looks consistently over the next few days that are budget conscious. Fashion has nothing to do with a price tag. If we are talking quality, intricate details and nice fabric, that sometimes can be a different story when it comes to items we purchase, but you don’t have to spend a lot to look good.

Day 1:

Mission Beach, San Diego. Where you can find me most weekends.

I’m sure you’ve noticed I don’t match. With swim suits, I usually like to interchange my tops and bottoms or buy separates. This is also a push up bathing suit top, which I don’t usually do, but I liked this one and the nautical look to it.

Since the season is about to change you can take advantage of swimsuit sales everywhere. It’s still 80-90 degrees in Los Angeles and San Diego and it doesn’t seem to be cooling down any time soon. Regardless we still always have our beach weather days. I will be doing a lot of beachy posts since I live at the beach half the time.

Time to relax with a good read.

Love for Gold.

I have an obsession with gold. Gold jewelry and accessories, gold decor and in in this case, gold pants! Daring, I know. Definitely not the norm. My friend who is a stylist had a fashion event and I thought these were perfect to wear for the occasion.

This view is amazing, right?

I tend to be drawn to things that stand out. Funky, fun, fashion. Some people may not see my vision until it is put together. When I see something I immediately style it out in my head or imagine what would pair well with it. Or I just grab funky stuff, bring it to the dressing room and see how it goes. I surprise myself sometimes. I received many compliments on this.

*True gold color of the pants is shown in the previous photos.

On another note, I am going to start posting to my blog again regularly. Yes, I know, I went missing after starting it last year. I was surprised at all the views I got from around the world. It is actually very exciting. It’s hard working full time and managing this but I am passionate about it and have decided to continue. Cheers to many more posts!
